Specify the appearance of table text

When you define a new table style or modify an existing table style using the Style command, you can apply the same text style or different text styles to these table text elements: table title, column headings, and data displayed in column cells.

You can differentiate your styles by changing the text properties, such as font type, size, color, and spacing.

  1. Open the Table Style dialog box using the Styles command .

  2. In the Table Style dialog box, click the Text tab.

  3. On the Text page, choose a style for each table element by selecting a style name from these lists:

    • Title style--Applies the selected style to the table title text.

    • Column header style--Applies the selected style to all table column header text.

    • Column data style--Applies the selected style to all content in the column cells.

    Tip:

The default table style is Normal.

  4. Review and adjust the properties of any text style you selected by doing the following:

    1. Select the style name from the Text Style list, and then click Modify.

    2. In the Modify Text Box Style dialog box, on the Paragraph page, change text properties, such as font type, size, language, spacing, and alignment.

    3. Click OK to return to the Table Style dialog box.

  5. To apply the current text style selections to a table on the drawing, in the Table Style dialog box, click OK.

  6. In the Style dialog box, click Close.

Tip:

  • To create a new text style rather than modifying the appearance of an existing text style, click the New button instead of the Modify button. On the Name page of the New Text Box Style dialog box, type a name for the new text style. Then you can specify the text properties of the new style on the Paragraph page.

  • The text style changes are applied to any existing tables on the drawing, as well as to new tables you create that use this text style.

  • To make changes to the table lines, see Specify the appearance of table lines.
