AutoStack dialog box

You can use the AutoStack dialog box to apply fractional formatting to numbers and symbols as you type them, for example, in a text box. You can display the AutoStack dialog box automatically when you type any of the following symbols preceded and succeeded by numbers, and then press Enter or Tab:

Automatically stack text expressions 1/2, 1#2, and 1^2 as you type

Specifies the automatic formatting to apply when you type two numbers separated by the following symbols:

Convert 1/2 to

Specifies the stack format to apply to two numbers when they are typed using the / separator.

The default is Stacked.

Convert 1#2 to

Specifies the stack format to apply to two numbers when they are typed using the # separator.

The default is Skewed.

Convert 1^2 to

Specifies the stack format to apply to two numbers when they are typed using the ^ separator.

The default is Tolerance.

Remove leading blank

Automatically removes the space between a preceding numeral and the fraction text. For example, if you type 4 1#2, the resulting display is 4½.

Don’t show this dialog again. Always use these settings.

Prevents the AutoStack dialog box from being opened every time you enter two numbers using the specified separator.

You may want to check this box when you are entering a succession of values and want to apply the same stack formatting to all of them.

You can reopen the AutoStack dialog box using the AutoStack button on the Stack dialog box.
