Manage page (Solid Edge Options dialog box)

Specifies how managed documents are opened and closed. The controls on this page are disabled when you are working offline.

Note:

Not all options are available in all environments.

When Opening Managed Documents

Always synchronize cache to get latest version of the document

Automatically downloads the latest version of the document you are opening from the managed library to your local system. If the document you are opening has links to other documents, the latest version of these indirect documents are also copied to your local cache.

When this option is cleared, and the latest version of the document you are opening is already in your local cache, the document is opened, but the indirect documents are not checked to see if the latest versions are your local cache. Use the Synchronize All command on the Cache Assistant dialog box to copy the latest version of the indirect documents to your local cache.

When this option is cleared, and the latest version of the document you are opening is not in your local cache, the latest version of the document you are opening is copied to your local cache and opened, and the latest version of any indirect documents are also copied to your local cache.

If you work with this option cleared, you should use the Synchronize All command on the Cache Assistant dialog box regularly to ensure that your local cache stays up to date with the managed library.

Note:

This option is only available for Insight and Solid Edge SP-managed documents.

When Closing Managed Documents

Always upload to server but leave document checked out to me

Automatically uploads documents from your local system to the managed library when closing a document, but keeps the document checked out. If the document is checked out, it is not available to other users.

Always upload to server and check document In

Automatically uploads a document from your local system to the managed library when closing a document. When the document is checked in, it is available to other users.

When Revising Managed Documents

Automatically revise drawings that use the Selected 3D Document

Performs a Where-Used search for draft documents automatically when you revise or choose Save As for 3D documents. The draft is revised or saved along with the 3D document and the draft is displayed in the dialog box to be checked in or uploaded.

When this option is cleared, draft documents will not be revised. Draft documents with a status of Obsolete are ignored in the Where-Used search.

Note:

This option only applies to draft documents that are in separate item revisions.

Life Cycle

Automatically make sibling and parent revisions obsolete

In an Insight-managed environment, specifies whether or not Solid Edge automatically makes documents at the same revision level, also known as sibling documents, and documents at a lower revision level, also known as parent documents, obsolete.

Automatically set the draft status to match the status of the part placed in the drawing

In an Insight-managed environment, specifies whether or not the status of where-used draft documents automatically update as part of the Life Cycle Assistant command.

Stop the life cycle process when reference documents have an obsolete status

Disables the document life cycle process when the structure includes references to Obsolete documents.

Warnings

Warn when multiple datasets exist

When unchecked, the warning is not displayed and you are returned to the Open dialog box when you try and open an item revision containing more than one Solid Edge document.

Assembly Structure Synchronization

Check-out candidate assemblies

When checked, assemblies that are candidates for BOM synchronization are checked-out of the managed location.

Show structure synchronization dialog

Determines whether the structure synchronization dialog box is displayed when BOM synchronization detects candidate assemblies.

Enable structure synchronization logging

When checked, structure synchronization logging is on and a log file is generated. The location of the log file is determined by the Log Files option in the File Locations page of the Solid Edge Options dialog box.

Alternate Assembly Synchronization

Synchronize alternate position assemblies

When checked, each Solid Edge alternate assembly member’s positional data is saved as an arrangement in Teamcenter using the member name. As a result, what you see in Solid Edge is what you see in Teamcenter Rich Client.

Multi-CAD

Save driven references to Teamcenter

Captures your intent to save Solid Edge content back to Teamcenter when you are working in a multi-CAD environment. When selected, Solid Edge datasets are created under the source Item Revision.

Teamcenter model data cache

Use the Teamcenter model data cache
