Change an assembly component in the Assembly environment
Step 1.

In an assembly, display the PathFinder tab.
Step 2.

Select the component you want to modify in PathFinder.
Step 3.

Right-click to display the shortcut menu.
Step 4.

On the shortcut menu, do one of the following:

  • To edit a part within the context of the assembly, choose Edit.

  • To edit a part without viewing the remainder of the assembly, choose Open.

Tip:

  • When you return to the Assembly environment, the assembly updates if the Automatic Update command is set.

  • When you use the Edit command, you can view the other parts in the assembly while you make the design changes.

  • When working with a new unsaved assembly document, you must save the assembly document once before editing a part in the context of the assembly.
