Construct a pattern along a curve

  1. Choose Home tab→Select group→Select.

  2. In PathFinder, select the features you want to pattern.

  3. Choose Home tab→Pattern→Along Curve.

  4. Select the curve or edge you want to arrange the pattern on.

  5. Select an anchor point and click. The anchor point is the point at which you want the pattern to begin.

  6. Use the dynamic arrow to choose the direction of the pattern along the curve or edge, and click.

  7. Use the controls on the QuickBar to set pattern type (fit, fill, or fixed), and set occurrence count and spacing as required.

  8. Click the Accept (check mark) button on the QuickBar.

  9. Use the controls on the QuickBar to set transformation type and rotation type (if applicable). You can also change the reference point (the point where transformation begins), as well as insert and suppress occurrences.

Tip:

  • You can pattern along any 2D or 3D curve or edge.

  • You can also pattern faces, face sets, and design bodies.
