Define the extent of an extruded feature

When constructing extruded features, you can define the extent in several ways. You can define the extent with the cursor or by typing a value in the dynamic edit box displayed in the graphics window. You also can use keypoints on another feature or another part in the assembly to define the extent for a feature.

  1. On QuickBar or command bar, click one of the following buttons:

    • Through All

    • Through Next

    • From/To

    • Finite

  2. Use the dynamic arrows and the messages displayed in PromptBar to finish defining the feature extent. You can change the extent options at any time as you construct the feature.

Tip:

  • When you are constructing a protrusion or cutout using the Finite Extent option, you can use the Symmetric Extent option on QuickBar or command bar to specify that the feature is extruded on both sides of the sketch plane.
